Waiting Hearts – A support community for couples facing infertility committed to the natural approach
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table – Psalm 128:3
This is probably one of the most difficult passages in the bible to comprehend, for a couple facing infertility.
Couples start trying to conceive a child full of hope and anticipation…imagining the day they can break the ‘news’, the day that they, too can become parents.
However, this seemingly straightforward phase of life, does not come easy for all. Some couples begin to realise that the simple ‘trying-to-conceive to pregnancy to baby’ formula does not seem to apply to them.
The days turn to months and then to years. All this time, the couples struggle with a whole range of emotions, mostly unwanted. Sadness, envy, resentment, anger, shame, disappointment, blame. Hope turns to hopelessness, and anticipation turns to despair.
Through it all, the biggest questions of all are; if God really cares, why is this happening? Why would God withhold something as beautiful and as wonderful, as the gift of life, to a couple determined to serve him? Is God really there?
The pain of infertility is heartbreaking and all consuming, and sadly, it is a silent pain, borne by the couples and only their very close and trusted loved ones.
This group hopes to bring together couples struggling with infertility, as they navigate the unfamiliar territory and the deep longing and many unwanted emotions that come with the journey.
We aim to draw strength from the word of God, in the belief that He is with us every step of this journey, that His grace will lead us out of this wilderness and most of all, that He has a plan and purpose for all of this. Because we are His beloved children.
Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD – Psalm 27:14
