FertilityCare
Treatment to achieve a pregnancy is offered to married couples in order to safe guard the best interests of the child. The program is based on natural methods acceptable to people of all religious beliefs and persuasions, and therefore not offensive to those who have any reservations about other forms of fertility treatment.
A FertilityCare and NaProTechnology program follows a simple series of steps according to your individual needs. 1. Education Using the Creighton Model FertilityCare System, women are taught to observe certain biological signs to monitor their own gynaecological health, and to confidently identify times of fertility and infertility. These biological signs include cervical mucus and bleeding patterns, and can be observed and analysed in all types of menstrual cycles. These signs are charted daily to give a clear picture of the woman’s individual cycle. Men are encouraged to actively participate in the charting process. This includes an introductory session to equip the couple with materials for charting and to brief the couple on how to begin Creighton Model charting. Following which there will be a follow up schedule where the couple will see the Fertilitycare Practitioner every 2 weeks in the early stages of the programme to review the charts and charting process. After a minimum 2 cycles of charting of the woman’s menstrual cycle, the couple can be referred to the Fertilitycare Medical Consultant for an evaluation of the couple’s fertility
2. Evaluation A FertilityCare Medical Consultant uses these charts as the basis for further investigations if needed. Blood tests, ultrasound examinations and other diagnostic procedures can be timed according to the woman’s cycle to closely evaluate any problems. For a couple experiencing infertility, evaluation of the man’s health is clearly also an important part of the program. 3. Treatment The use of NaProTechnology enables a FertilityCare physician to offer you individualised treatment for your specific needs. Appropriate treatments or medication can be accurately prescribed accounting to the woman’s charting and individual cycle tiiming. An infertility treatment program is aimed at maximising your chances of conceiving naturally while on treatment, maintaining your pregnancy to full term, and helping you to care for your fertility in the long term. Treatment plans can include:
In line with the FertilityCare approach to respecting the entire person, careful attention is paid to the emotional, psychological and spiritual aspects of your health. The influences of lifestyle and other factors on your fertility are also discussed. |
